Providing Programs and Services to those Impacted by Cancer
Tucson, Arizona – November 20, 2024 – Arizona Oncology Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by cancer, is proud to announce its official name change to the Arizona Foundation for Cancer. This change reflects the organization’s expanding mission to serve all cancer patients and families in Arizona with a renewed focus on comprehensive programs, support groups and resources for those affected by cancer.
Founded in 2012, the Foundation has been a vital resource for patients providing access to bras and breast prothesis, gas cards, wigs and head coverings, housecleaning, integrative therapies, lodging, nutrition counseling, and support groups. Over the years, the Foundation has expanded its outreach and services and focused on building partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations to create a more expansive network of support.
“Our new name, Arizona Foundation for Cancer, embodies our broader commitment to serving Arizona’s cancer community,” said Wendy Capullo, Executive Director of the Arizona Foundation for Cancer. “As we move forward under this new trademark, our goal is to increase awareness, expand our programs and reach even more individuals and families who are in need of support as they navigate the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.”
With the updated name, the Foundation also introduces a new website, azforcancer.org to make it easier for patients, families, donors, and volunteers to access resources, get involved, and stay informed.
“We remain deeply committed to empowering patients and families on their journey with cancer, and our new name reflects our vision to serve as a statewide resource,” added John Lubniewski, President of the Board. “As the Arizona Foundation for Cancer, we’ll work to bring greater support, resources, and hope to communities across Arizona.”
