John Lubniewski,
Board Chair
Mr Lubniewski is a recently retired tech and life science executive. He served in senior leadership roles at HTG Molecular, Roche Tissue Diagnostics/Ventana Medical Systems and Corning Inc. Mr Lubniewski has previous non-profit experience in Warren County, New Jersey both as a member of the United Way Funds Distribution Committee and as a Board Member for Catholic Charities. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University and he and his wife have lived in Oro Valley for over 20 years.

Elizabeth Buscema,
Vice Chair
Mrs. Buscema’s family moved to Tucson from Baltimore in 2002. Her husband, Joseph, a Gynecologic-Oncologist, joined Arizona Oncology and still practices. She worked as a Gyn-Oncology nurse at Johns Hopkins prior to moving and has volunteered with our Festival of Trees since 2015, joining the board in 2019. As a former oncology nurse and spouse of an oncologist, she’s witnessed the struggles families face after diagnosis and is proud to serve our community.

Arlene Kutoroff,
Ms. Kutoroff is a 17-year breast cancer survivor and retired counselor. She began her cancer journey by attending every educational workshop she could and has served on boards including Tucson Cancer Conquerors, University of Arizona Cancer Center Advisory Board, and American Cancer Society. As a patient advocate, she now helps survivors navigate resources and peer support.

Casey Anderson,
Treasurer
Casey Anderson is the owner of Casey Anderson Consulting, with 25+ years supporting for-profit and non-profit entities. Proud mom of Caleb and dog mom to Harley, she joined our board in 2020 to help those impacted by cancer.

Jason Thompson,
Jason Thompson is a Real Estate Consultant with Keller Williams Southern Arizona (Rookie of the Year 2021). Born and raised in Tucson, he’s also a throat cancer survivor and advocate whose wife battled breast cancer twice. On our board, he secures donors and brings energy and passion to every meeting.

Jim Evers MD,
Secretary
Dr. Evers is a retired OB/GYN with 35 years in private practice and 5 years at Arizona Oncology. He prioritizes comprehensive patient care and enjoys music, cycling, and cooking.

Nancy Bullock,
Born in Canada, Nancy moved to Tucson in 1986. She volunteered for decades, teaching self-care, motivation, and etiquette, and in 2013 joined Arizona Foundation for Cancer. She’s a two-time breast cancer survivor and serves on our board to support patients throughout their journey.

Wendy Capullo,
Executive Director
Wendy relocated from New York in 1996 after a career in real estate and property management. As Executive Director for 4 years, she’s turned personal loss into passion, leading our foundation to positively impact every patient’s journey.

Darlene Twiss,
Community Outreach and Development Coordinator
Darlene is our Outreach & Events Coordinator, with 10+ years planning fundraisers and serving on multiple non-profit boards. She holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.S. in Biology from Providence College, and enjoys hiking, Zumba, and tennis.
